LET'S MAKE IT MINI — 1:12 CABINET PAIR KIT

PURPOSE
This kit converts the dimensions visible in the supplied cabinet reference image to
1:12 scale and engineers the flat parts for 1/8-inch (0.125-inch / approximately
3 mm) basswood and butt-joint construction.

LASER FILE KEY
- RED paths: through-cut outlines
- BLUE paths: shallow engraving for part IDs, guides, panels and knob centers
- Each artboard is exactly 12.000 x 12.000 inches.
- Dimensions are nominal. No kerf compensation has been applied.
- CAL-1 is a 1.000 x 1.000 inch calibration coupon; it is not a cabinet part.
- All engraved IDs are vector outlines, so no fonts are needed in the laser app.

IMPORTANT BEFORE CUTTING
1. Measure the actual basswood thickness; material sold as 1/8 inch can vary.
2. Import the SVG into xTool Studio and confirm the complete design is 12 x 12 inches.
3. Confirm CAL-1 displays as exactly 1 x 1 inch.
4. Assign BLUE to a shallow engraving operation and RED to Cut. Engrave first.
5. Use a material test and the 3 mm / 1/8-inch basswood preset appropriate for the
   installed M2 laser module. Wood density, glue content and focus can vary.
6. Cut and measure CAL-1 before processing all parts. Apply any required kerf offset
   in the machine/material settings, or adjust the source after testing.
7. Preview/frame the job, use exhaust and air assist, and supervise the entire cut.

DESIGN DECISIONS AND ASSUMPTIONS
- The source image lists 71 inches overall, 31.5 inches for the base and 39.4 inches
  for the upper. Those section dimensions total 70.9 inches. This kit preserves the
  71-inch overall height and 31.5-inch base, making the upper 39.5 inches full-size
  equivalent (3.2917 inches at 1:12). The miniature adjustment is only 0.0083 inch.
- Sides are full height. Tops, bottoms, shelves and dividers fit between the sides.
  Backs are inset between the four carcass edges.
- Closed carcasses are 1.1833 inches deep; their 0.125-inch overlay fronts create the
  final 1.3083-inch depth. The open upper uses the full 1.3083-inch side depth.
- Door reveals use a nominal 1/64-inch gap. Clear glazing is hand cut because the
  laser safety of unknown plastic sheet cannot be assumed.
- The three drawers are working five-piece boxes with intentional running clearance.
- The supplied reference image does not reveal hidden factory joinery. These are
  engineered miniature plans based on the visible dimensions, not replicas of the
  manufacturer's internal construction.

HAND CUTTING
Use the exact decimal dimensions in Cabinet_Pair_Cut_List.csv. The nearest 1/64-inch
values in the printable guide are convenient shop references only. Mark each piece
code on its hidden face and sand paired pieces together for matching dimensions.

PROTOTYPE NOTE
The geometry and fit calculations have been checked digitally, but this design has
not been physically test-built. Dry-fit every carcass, drawer and front before gluing.
A low-cost test cut is recommended before filming a finished tutorial build.
